We don’t know if they’re a couple. They certainly weren’t two days ago. But neither of us knows what they’ve been talking about lately.
But there are probably a lot of us who wish they become a real couple. The question is if this is possible in this situation.
If he can accept it, feel ok and swing himself, or she quits until they’re an established couple
