I’ve been a photographer for decades in one medium or another. Back when I was shooting 35 mm, I was a fan of David Hamilton. I had a couple of his books, which I read was interest.
Did you know that he was accused of rape in 2016 by a model he had photographed in 1987.
In October 2016, French television presenter Flavie Flament accused him of raping her in 1987, when she was 13 years old. In November 2016, French magazine L’Obs published anonymous accounts from three other former models who claimed to have been raped by Hamilton.
On November 22nd, Hamilton issued a statement threatening legal action against his accusers and claimed that he did not do anything wrong. On 25 November 2016, he was found dead in his Paris apartment of apparent suicide by asphyxiation.
