I think there is some kind of crisis in their relationship. They were supposed to come here together.
When she left A&A she looked sad and upset, and yesterday they talked on the phone and he looked sad.

Occasionally Evelyn and Yan are seemingly happy together, but then suddenly
they start fighting. I guess they are not really fit for each other.
Yan is funny and peculiarly witty, but probably may also be very annoying and stubborn, Evelyn is young and shy, but also very quick-tempered and probably often misunderstands Yan’s humor.
