Of course, you are right. This is all an illusion and the participants know what we are interested in seeing. But why not enjoy it at face value rather than pointing out that it may not be authentic?
What you say, while correct, is like saying “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” isn’t entertainment for those who watch because the final pairings rarely wind up getting married and living happily ever after. FYI, I don’t watch “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” so you can save your pro or con arguments.
As far as the authenticity argument goes, I have suspected that some of the girls on VHTV may be interested in girls but have not gone there. Others have teased in lesbian scenes which led to some forum discussions about authenticity.
To me, a girl kissing is not an indicator that she has lesbian tendencies. They can build up courage and do it, such as when Flora and Aylin (Yan and Flora) made out while in a bath or when Dobby and Frida (Crazy House) made out while _____. Forum contributors had suspected that Aylin might be interested in girls. In her defense, Dobby and Dulce also messed around. But there is little indication that any of them want to have lesbian sex. This supports your lack of authenticity argument.
Kissing is something that one can build up the courage to do just like anything else. For example, I was invited to dinner with a gf at her parents’ house and was served Brussels Sprouts.
