Looks like mini oranges.
Ah OK. I was going to say, they look like lemons to me (the shape vaguely reminded me of them) but I have never seen orange coloured lemons!!!
No, mandarines are round, these seem more elongated.
Yes, you’re right. No idea what they are
Definitely a great birthday present.
Just discovered, they are likely to be kumquats.
“Kumquats are small, orange-coloured citrus fruits with a sweet skin and tart flesh. They are also called dwarf oranges or dwarf bitter orange.”
That’s what Google says. But you could be right.
so where are they from a hot place or a cold one ,could they grow in England
They come from Asia and can be grown in subtropical parts of the world.
it looks like a good plant to have
Yes it does. It certainly adds colour to its surroundings. Not sure I have ever tasted a kumquat so I might have to try one, one day.
I had them in a sweet sour sauce with a steak in a restaurant once and they tasted very good. Fruity, a bit bitter, a little bit spicy like pepper…
Well now I really AM curious enough to want to try one… and also now a little hungry!!!
Thank you 🫶🏼
