Just looked up the meaning of the word ‘Gorgon’. Apparently in Greek mythology, a gorgon was a fearsome female monster so if she considers herself to be one of those, that first name would work as well the version she suggested with the additional ‘a’.

Yes the most famous Gorgon was Medusa
She likes that name and is interested in Greek Mythology. But she also thinks the name sounds nicer with an -a at the end.

Yes I must admit I would be inclined to agree with her regarding the name. 
The additional letter gives it more of a feel of a personal name, rather than JUST a descriptive word, if you know what I mean.
