If you are talking about the purple wand, yes it is dead. Too much use by others broke it. When she gets a new one she needs to lock it away so Jirina cannot steal it. It was bought as a present for her by Kostja and she was so excited when he presented to her, then Jirina found it and started to use it, which was just wrong, it was a very personal gift between them.
