I also remembered that whether it opens in a new tab or a new window is a configuration option, although I don’t recall exactly where to tell you to find it. Probably in Settings.

I only ever had to use one key+left click to do it. Check in settings for a configuration option that fixes it for the Shift key.

No, Jabbath’s solution is much easier for me. Simply click on the link with the middle mouse button (scroll wheel). There’s no need for a keyboard…
