I’m not complaining. I love this picture of Emilia. However, retro refers to something old. Emilia is brand new. We’ve only known her a couple of weeks, give or take. She just recently got her name.
Within VH, retro would typically refer to participants and guests who are no longer in the project.
It’s a great catch! I love it when she looks at the camera with that cute little smile.
“Retro style is imitative or consciously derivative of lifestyles, trends, or art forms from the past, including in music, modes, fashions, or attitudes. In popular culture, the “nostalgia cycle” is typically for the two decades that begin 20–30 years ago.”
It’s probably not Emilia who is RETRO. It’s just that the picture is a few days old. Retro is in the dictionary “back, backwards”. To be fair, it should have said “RETRO” to show that it wasn’t that long ago! JMO
Amazing! I’m stunned! It’s extremely rare to see anyone use anything except their hand and water to “wash” with. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a washcloth being used. Maybe once. Very often, they don’t use soap.
Of course, I only see what gets posted here.
Pearl is not only using a lot of soap, but one of those synthetic sponges—I forget what they’re called—too, which are good for exfoliation. Good on you, Pearl. That’s how you get clean.
Maybe it should have said “REPEAT”

But, that’s the whole point. Retro doesn’t mean not that long ago, no matter how you dress it up. It means just the opposite of not that long ago. As my previous definition said, it means decades ago.
I think you’re right. Repeat seems like a better descriptor. Or, in this particular case, since it’s so new, maybe even no adjective. But, “repeat” works.
Here it was a real repeat as the same thing had been posted earlier too!
