Along with his tariffs on almost everything imported into the US from everywhere in the world, Trump proposes a tariff on the fentanyl coming into the country from Canada. Let that sink in. A tariff on an illegal drug, as if the smugglers declare their “product” at the border and would hand over cash to US Customs.
Wait. There’s another part to this. Donald Trump wants to impose tariffs on imported illegal drugs. Is he then demanding that fentanyl and the other killer drugs be manufactured here instead? That would seem to be the necessary corollary, wouldn’t it?
