The inverted ‘negative’ image should appear as a ‘non inverted’ (natural looking) image on the blank panel. I found it works better if you blink whilst counting each second (1 blink for each second being counted) when you stare at the inverted one. For me, the ‘natural’ looking effect didn’t last all that long, actually only a few seconds, if that.
