There’s something wrong with liking male bum cracks? I like hairy ones. It offers a little resistance I’ve found. You don’t want things being too easy.
The apartments does not have individual heating (АОГВ). The central heating does not work, because it is usually switched on a bit later (for example, Oct 01).
What I found with Russian heating , this relates to St Petersburg only , in the winter the flats are like sauna s even though windows are all open, they dont seem to be able to control the heat output by western standards . Delve a little deeper many flats have area heating thats pipes underground etc and goverment controlled or even just one boiler for one single block of flats , The main problem i found is control of the temp , the systems are old heating valves dont work so its all or nothing kind of thing , whilst modern flats can have individual boilers both gas or electric and the heating bills are a shock against the old systems being cheap . To sum up new is good but expensive old is add-hoc but a lot cheaper .
The problem with the older central heating systems is they are less efficient so cost more to run also.

Yeah I know. Sometimes off a district heating system too so they will never update them due to capital costs
I found the whole russian life is a shock by western standards some good some bad , on one side very rich , on the other side very poor , again on buildings some very very old , yet some ultra modern. but however you find things the people are warm friendly and love to feed you when you visit them. 
Exactly the same for me when I went to Romania. Very welcoming people 
Even more exstreem , my sister went there years ago in the orphanage scandels years ago , she came home in shock
