I am so pissed that places like Ukraine and Russia (not to mention Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan etc.) are effectively out of bounds to normal tourists like me. Places I’d dearly love to visit whilst I am still able to but cannot thanks to the stupidity of men (and yes, it is almost all men!) Rant over!

There is no war in Iran, you can visit Tehran. You should just hold back with political statements.
That’s why I phrased it the way I did. Without getting into a political argument (and respecting your own viewpoints) it is not exactly a standard tourist destination at the moment. I wish it were different, I really do. I can’t even get insurance as a UK citizen
Besides, I never said there was a war - just that my perception is that they are not places to visit as a standard tourist
