Sorry i have just seen this was answered above !! No it is a red ■■■■ Saperavi is one of the most prolific georgian gr__e variety .
This one the Askaneli is qiuite well known 13percent proof and would retail about £15 in London - sometimes available.

I must take your word for it as i am not familiar with wines, but what made me believe it’s a Brandy was the V.S. designation on the label, which from my knowledge it’s used as a guarantee for how old the Brandy is…

still in pain @Flora? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: :s___py:

Yes the letters V S O P often used on Brandies means Very Special Old Pale . it is a style of Brandy rather than a definition of quality.

:joy: :joy: :joy:

Correct, V S O P is one of the three used, and means that the Brandy was aged for at least four years, like V.S means that was aged for at least two, and the top rated one is X O aged for at least six years

VS = Very Superior (at least 2 years old)

VSOP = Very Superior Old Pale (must be at least 4 years old)

VSOP XO = Very Superior Old Pale Extra Old (must be at least 10 years old)

Yes, the first two are very correct, last one it’s just XO and must be at least 6 years old :hugs: :innocent:

Ok, my age information refers to cognac… otherwise Google is lying…

un brandy n’est pas un cognac! Comme si un vin mousseux était du Champagne :open_mouth:

You are right and i stand corrected, i have only used both as i wasn’t sure how people from different countries refer to Brandy/Cognac

le cognac est issu UNIQUEMENT de la région de Cognac en France.
Comme le Bordeaux ou le Bourgogne. Le reste des simili appellation ne sont que des fakes pour mieux vendre aux gens qui n’y connaissent rien en vins

Exactly, as the saying goes: Every Cognac is a Brandy, but not all Brandy is a Cognac :hugs:

vous ne verrez jamais le mot brandy sur une (vraie) bouteille de Cognac (je sais de quoi je parle…)
