The Danish were not even originally qualified for the Euro 92 tournament, but still ended up winning it…

If i remember right, Yugloslavia was disqualified due to the war and Denmark, as the runner-up in that group, was called to play instead of them

Originally as far as I remember it, and also as you are saying, there was some political disturbances in Yougoslavia, and the result was that Denmark were called in to fill their place.

Sorry, i meant no disrespect for the phenomenal performance and achievement. I only meant that Greece won the tournament although they weren’t even close to be considered as favourites. The odds were 150/1… In fairness, not a single team from East Europe was or will be between the favs at Euro or World Cup. It is a reality

Not just eastern Europe but all small population countries around Europe except Holland & Portugal
If the Swiss win they top the group.

The tournament is properly starting after the Group stage. They won the Group, that’s all that it matters for now.
