I have to correct you (and/or Google) there: “Kätzchen” is not the plural of Cat. It corresponds to the English “kitten” and/or is often used as a diminutive form für adult cats.
Cat = Katze = Singular
Cats = Katzen = Plural

“Das Kätzchen” (singular) = “The kitten”
“Die Kätzchen” (plural) = “The kittens”
