I’ve seen something similar. My lady friend went thru chemo also. Her cat, a male tabby, stayed in bed with her & only left to go to his litter box or have a quick snack.

That’s a red squirrel & yes, they’re pretty fierce little guys. Very territorial.

The Grey ones are vicious too.

I knew of a falconer (falconry being an interest of mine) who flew a Goshawk at a Grey Squirrel and it bit the poor bird on the ankle.

There isn’t very much to the structure of a bird’s (any bird) leg, as I am sure you know!
