Discussion about Russian invasion of Ukraine

Germany had it’s chance after WW1, they threw it away with Adolf, but can we blame the Germans who live now for that?

and what about Japan?

and Italy?

The interesting thing is most of the worst atrocities committed during WW2 were committed by Austrian born officers yet Germany has always had the finger of blame pointed at them and only them. Alright I admit they joined the German army but for Germany to pay out millions every year to this day puzzles me a little. I’m also thinking of the war in Chechnya and the atrocities there against basically their own people. Who was behind it? Putin! Surprise, surprise.

I’ve no doubt there will be a Russian generation which will look back in shame at what Putin has done and probably ask why ordinary Russians didn’t stand up to this regime. Maybe it has yet to happen but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Russian people don’t want to face big changes even if it is for the betterment of their country. The word lazy comes to mind and b___dbath which is understandable. But living in hope that the next dictator won’t be like the last one is a bit of a s__tty way to live.

Americans helped us many times throughout history

I appreciate your points but they were well and truly beaten into s________n by the rest of the world.
For this to happen now would no doubt involve nuclear weapons and that thought terrifies me.

i just hope that there is someone in the kremlin that is able to stop Putin if he wants to push the red button at his last breath

Even in Russia now anyone who disagrees with the government or attempt changes mysteriously seem to fall out of windows or simlar.

thats the biggest problem!

If you stand up against the system over there, you will be sent to Siberia, to rot in an camp without normal food and no connection to your relatives

let us just hope that the next leader is not a dictator and the russians are also able to vote for real

But it isn’t just Putin, they reckon many of his possible successors are even worse in their views and aims than Putin.
Hopefully sense will prevail but it’s gonna take a very long time, if at all, and certainly not overnight.

right, so it would be time for a big clean up action over there

Easier said than done pal i’m afraid.
I won’t certainly see any radical change of that i am sure.

it takes little steps to make it a big one

Unfortunately there are hardliners standing on the sidelines. I agree and really hope there won’t be another dictator. Maybe the results of this war whenever it ends ‘Might’ influence whoever takes over. Perhaps the best way forward for Russians is not giving one man so much power. Decisions made more collectively lessens the chance of conflict with other countries while being more honest about the countries finances. I bet everything is so badly corrupt Russia is rotting to its core and the top 1% that have incredible wealth will stop at nothing to keep it that way.

this is also true, but on the other side of the ocean is the same problem, even though the dictator (the man who can operate the red button) is elected ‘democratic’ once every 4 years.

There is also a lot to criticize about that, with that system I do not agree at all

if you look at what we have there and had in recent years, I hold my heart for the future of my grandc___dren and our planet

i’m afraid in the near future it will look more like that: there are many russian families who have lost loved ones… and who will blame ukraine and not putin because the indoctrination won’t get out of people’s heads fast enough as it has seeped in drop by drop for years…
in germany, we experience the long-term consequences of failed conquests and the never-ending rhetoric of the nazis, even in current politics, almost every day. some incorrigibles always learn the wrong lessons from the past. ‘It was our fault’ quickly becomes ‘We just weren’t determined enough to win’

Crimea, Oktyabrske village.

:boom:The occupying “head” of Crimea, Aksyonov, clarified that the drones hit an ammunition depot and the detonation is ongoing. An evacuation has been announced within a 5-kilometer radius and railroad traffic will be stopped.

A local resident told Suspilne that the fire occurred near the Elevatorna station. An abandoned Soviet airfield is located near it. According to the Crimean partisan movement, Russian military equipment is located there.

This is why Russian propagandists in the occupied territories of Ukraine are considered legitimate targets

Anyone who participates in reloading guns, rides on military vehicles, has no identifying marks, but carries a weapon becomes a combatant.

Lukashenko meets with Putin in St. Petersburg

At the meeting, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Wagner PMC fighters were “stressing him out” because they wanted to attack Poland.

Media reports say that Lukashenko brought to the meeting with Putin a map of the deployment of Polish troops to the borders of the Union State: a brigade near Brest and Hrodna.

The meeting between the dictators is expected to last two days.

“And how do you Russian Orthodox pray in Russian churches?”

Archbishop Viktor of the Odessa diocese of the UOC (MP) sent a letter to Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev) of Moscow and all members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church:

"Please note that at the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of 27.05.2022 it was decided that we, headed by our Primate of the UOC, withdraw completely from your subordination. Not once you, in your sermons speak about unity of “Sacred Russia” which you by your blessing and actions completely destroy. I also ask you to pay attention to the fact that exactly by your personal blessing, the army of the Russian Federation today makes outrage and open war on the sovereign territory of the Ukrainian Empire. In my opinion, you have forgotten that both in Russia and Ukraine there are (were) your c___dren, whom you consider as such, and blessed those who are k__ling them today.
To my great disappointment, at the last Bishops’ meeting in Moscow, you did not say a single word about the need to stop this Cain war, to stop these k__lings and destruction of peaceful towns and villages! Stop the b___dshed!
Your bishops and priests consecrate and bless the tanks and missiles that bomb our peaceful cities.
Today, when I came at the end of curfew to the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour of Odessa, I saw that the missile of the Russian Federation “blessed” by you flew directly into the altar of the church in the holy of holies, I realised that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has nothing in common with your understandings for a long time.
Because of personal ambitions you have lost the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and other Churches in the countries of “holy Russia”!
I cannot turn my tongue to call you “Great Lord and F____r”, because you are a f____r who gave his c___dren to perdition and m____r!..
Today we (I speak on behalf of many hierarchs of the UOC) condemn this insane aggression of the Russian Federation against our Independent country.
We condemn the barbaric seizures of our dioceses in the East and South of Ukraine. We condemn the repression and oppression that your bodies are doing in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine!

I sincerely ask you to stop. Every missile that comes to the territory of Ukraine today is perceived by its inhabitants as your “blessing” to their c___dren.
A faithful novice of the Primate of the UOC, Victor, Archbishop of Artsyzsk, Vicar of the Odessa diocese.

Two clowns meeting to discuss something that will not happen. As we know Poland is a member of NATO and anyone crossing the border would be annihilated instantly. But this does confirm my suspicions of Putin’s desire to escalate this war because currently it is unwinnable for him. He would like to see this happen but in such a way that he doesn’t look like the instigator.

We see Odesa today in the middle video below and it is absolute terrorism by Russia. More war crimes Putin should be facing.

What do we know about the latest attack on Odesa?

orks deliberately fired inaccurate missiles at Odesa, - Defense Ministry.

The X-22 missile has a 50% probability of hitting a target with a deviation of 300 meters.

This means that even if the missiles were aimed at military targets, they could only hit them by accident.
