At the summit of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in Ankara, members of the Verkhovna Rada tried to disrupt the speech of the Russian delegation. They stood behind Olga Timofeeva, a State Duma deputy from United Russia, and unfurled the flags of Ukraine and the UPA.

Later, on the sidelines of the event, MP Oleksandr Marykovsky took the Ukrainian flag away from a Russian diplomat who wanted to tear it down.

Should have knocked that asshole out… :smiling_imp: :ukraine: :muscle:

I am a little bit surprised at security. I thought it would have been better but I suppose nobody was expecting that to happen. This shows how tension is building everywhere and of course they won’t show this on Russian media. With so many Western companies and brands having left Russia and Russian politicians unwelcome Putin really has turned back the hands of time by setting Russia back by at least 40 years.

For example, I remember when McDonalds opened in Moscow (Pushkin Square 1990) and how much of a big deal it was, but I never thought I would see them leave like so many others in 2022. This is what I mean by setting Russia back rather than going forward.

it is about the same with the drone attack on the Kremlin

Zelensky was in my country today and he repeated that Ukraine did not send that drone, simply because they do not have the utilities to do it, and everything is used to defend the country against the terrorists…

It might even be that the russians put that drone attack in scene, just to convince their own people that the “special operation” is needed to defend Russia…

I think there is little doubt about it. You may recall he blew up Russian apartment blocks simulating terrorist attacks to justify his using f___e to fight in Chechnya

I think it was a false flag attack. Putin needs to muster up public support for his failing invasion. State controlled media is hammering home the point of nowhere is safe in Moscow because of Ukraine. Other than that the only possible cause would be the work of vigilantes either by Ukrainians or Russians against the war. But I feel that’s more unlikely because I think Zelensky is telling the truth. He has to stick to his promise made to Western countries that he won’t attack deep inside Russia otherwise he seriously risks losing support including weapons supplies.

Over all the the attack on the Kremlin is a huge embarrassment as it is supposed to be one of the most protected buildings in the World. I think the Russians are also very worried of what Ukraine does next on the battlefield. Russia has achieved practically nothing after all their efforts and yet a major new Ukrainian offensive is coming any day now. Even the head of the Wagner group Yevgeny Prigozhin has called on Russia to end the war and consolidate their gains. That won’t happen because it’s Putin we are talking about and his political career (life even) depends on it.

What good has Putin done for Russia? 100 Russians answered this question.

What will Russian citizens do when they are no longer welcome in the free world?? Selective travelling. A target on their backs?? Europes new gysies???

the citizens are not the bad guys…

so when this stupid war has ended they will be welcome as before

@Juston63633 I think life will be more difficult for them as this war rages on all thanks to Putin. But I wouldn’t tar all Russians with the same brush like I would with Putin. There is a lot of decent people living there under a dictatorship. Not all believe the lies they have been told from an early age either. But unfortunately they are ruled under an iron fist and I think only Russians can free themselves from dictatorships. How and when nobody knows.

The main summary of 2022
Even after the collapse of the USSR, Moscow continued to expect that it would be possible to restore the “union state”, by which, of course, they continued to mean the same Russia with other former union republics. And when they were convinced that these were utopian hopes, they decided that the best method of restoring the USSR was a special operation. That is, war.

In Moscow, they decided that the best method of restoring the USSR was a special operation. That is, war
Therefore, the main result of 2022, which we do not even notice under the missile strikes of the Russian army, is that there is no Soviet Union on the world map, as before. After all, the plans of the Russian leadership probably already included the restoration of this political monster after expecting a “quick victory” over Ukraine.

But there was no quick victory. The Soviet Union is a thing of the past. The past never conquers the future - this is a truth that the Kremlin stubbornly refuses to accept.

it was a note of protest in the face

Whenever this war ends and some form of stability is restored (hopefully without Putin) i often wonder how many country’s will change their minds about trading with Russia and want to restore their cheap energy supply’s etc etc.
Also how many of the existing sanctions will remain intact and these same country’s may want to reduce them for their own benefit.
Interesting thought eh, hopefully i am wrong and the rest of the world will keep up an united front but suppose only time will tell eh.

I believe and hope these sanctions will only get lifted if Russia has a different goverment and takes responsibility for the crimes it did.

However history told us that we should not impose another “Treaty of Versailles” on Russia if there is a different goverment and change of politics.

European Electricity Review 2023 | Ember (ember-climate.org)
Deutsche Welle
The countries of the European Union produced 203 terawatt-hours (TWh) of solar energy in 2022, which is 39 TWh or 24 percent more than a year earlier. This made it possible to save about 10 billion euros on the purchase of gas, Ember analysts write. Wind energy provided the EU with 420 TWh of energy, 33 TWh more than in 2021.
Germany produced the most “green” energy
Germany received the most energy from renewable sources in the EU in 2022 - 126 TWh from wind and 59 TWh from the sun. However, the share of “green” energy in the overall energy balance is larger in some EU countries. In particular, solar energy provides 14 percent of total electricity production in the Netherlands and 13 percent each in Greece and Hungary. In Germany, this indicator is approximately 10 percent.

As for wind energy, it provides more than 50 percent of Denmark’s output, almost 40 percent to Lithuania and about 35 percent to Ireland. In Germany, the share of wind energy is about 20 percent.

At the same time, Germany achieved the greatest progress in the development of solar energy in 2022, together with Spain and Poland, and in wind energy - together with Poland and Sweden, the Ember report notes.

The transition to “green” energy was accelerated by the crisis
“The crisis has definitely accelerated the energy transition in Europe,” commented Ember’s head of data analytics, Dave Jones, on the results. The war in Ukraine started by the Russian Federation and the sharp reduction of Russian gas supplies to Europe f___ed many countries of the world to look for alternative sources of energy.

Thus, in less than a year, Germany was able to completely overcome its dependence on Russian gas

Am afraid i don’t hold out much hope for that infact, from what i have read successors may even turn out to be as bad or if not possibly worse.

Well as you say from history this didn’t work very well and so ensued WW2
