Russia does not actually exist as a state in the modern sense of the word. It is only about Moscow - the imperial center, and only the elite matter there, the new boyars, the Kaghebist “nobles”, who replaced the tsar’s boyars and then the communist boyars.
Only they have the right to decide, to think, they have the right to own the wealth, they have the right of life and death over anyone. And they feel superior to anyone - they can break any rules, there are no limits for them.
And according to these nobles - in order - things are so placed in the mind of the empire. The population of Moscow is privileged. After comes st petersburg. Next come the ethnic Russians from the “empire”. After the others (Buryats, Chechens, etc.).
For them - the lower you are in the “hierarchy” the more your right to life, to dignity, the right not to be r__ed or k__led did not exist for the imperial elite in Moscow.
Such a structure cannot exist in the 21st century. It still exists around the world until the 19th century. Some tried something like this in the 20th century, but they were destroyed by the civilized world, rightfully so. Now only Moscow remains, that’s all - tolerated by the madness, cowardice, corruption and villainy of many in the West.
Correct because most of those sent to Ukraine are from ethnic minorities which is where most of the civil unrest has been and its building!
I think this war has been a wake up call for certain people in Moscow. They now understand what their mistakes were and exactly what they will do next remains to be seen.
I don’t believe that any change will happen coming from this part of russia. If will happen i believe that will come/start from the eastern side. In Moscow and St. Petersburg the level of living is far superior to all the other regions/cities simply because that’s where all the money are coming. The less money are going to be sent to the east the more unrest will start over there, so that’s why i believe that the east is the key for a change
More than likely because the break up of Yugoslavia was very similar.I have a lot of friends in Slovenia and Croatia and they all said the same thing in how Belgrade took everything from everyone but never reinvested elsewhere neglecting responsibilities. So basically if you lived in Serbia life was good and lets not forget Serbia have supported Russia in their illegal invasion. They are after all Chetniks. What is happening now is Russia is not entirely dissimilar. Alright Putin has a strong grip but for how much longer? We will see.
Putin’s retreat from Kherson is a military disaster Thoughts of Maj. Gen. Chip Chapman
Yes it is a good idea to take a moment slightly away from all this madness. I like it and I also liked the Ukrainian sense of humor all the way through this war. Sadly a lot of Ukrainians have died too but their high morale afforded them to laugh at a few things that I laughed at with them while thinking to myself of how much salt was being rubbed into the Kremlin’s wounds from their videos
I think I am right in saying Putin’s dreams didn’t exactly come true There was no Russian blitzkrieg after all. So all that is left for me to say is… Ha Haaa Haaaaaa!
Zelenskyy is right, push them ALL out because this isn’t over until it is over… on Ukrainian terms!
Putin’s temerity says everything about his last century beliefs and expectations. Hello everyone over there in the Kremlin guess what? The World has moved on and we live in a new century now!! This might be difficult to believe but we are actually close to 2023 not 1923. This is why your ass has been so seriously kicked hard and it will continue until you are ALL out of Ukraine. We don’t think backwards, we think forwards.
To quote a movie…you don’t bring a knife to a gunfight kiddo
HIMARS and many, many more things (too many to list at this stage of my posts) are all waiting and as one Ukrainian general said, Keep sending your troops Putin and we will keep k__ling them
moi c’est le contraire; j’ai bien envie de regarder leurs têtes quand ils verront leurs soldats se prendre un bon coup de pied au cul. Moins d’alcool coulera…
It doesn’t matter in which conflict or business enterprise you want to name there is always unscrupulous, unprincipled greedy bastards who basically don’t give a fuck.
The sanctions are only being applied by The USA, EU and the UK along with countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Russia are still trading with China Iran. I also believe that Russia have good relations with Turkey and Egypt. I may be wrong of course.
True in what you’ve all said because not everyone has slapped sanctions on Russia. She made a good point in saying Putin knows he MUST keep shop shelves shocked or serious questions will be asked. They have learned from past mistakes.
@John78 made a good point in saying all the big cities won’t run short (especially Moscow) but other areas of Russia don’t have the same abundance.
At least their military machine isn’t what everyone expected and Western sanctions will hit their advanced weapons. It will take a long time to recover / replenish stockpiles. They will get what they need through someone else’s back door but it will take longer I would imagine. Some of the Stan countries like Kazakhstan and where birth rates are falling we see a sudden high demand for women’s breast pumps, washing machines and dishwashers. Someone is hungry for chips!
