Yeah, I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of an emu, or an ostrich.
I posted this video a good while ago, but I’ve since found some photos to give it a bit of context. After your post, Tavares, I think this is a good place to put them.
Amazing Thank You GladNGrumpy
It puts me in mind of a series of old British television adverts for ‘PG Tips’ tea bags, with chimpanzees. Very well known over here and actually quite popular (the adverts AND the product).
Here is a link to some of them…

I should point out incidentally, that the old adage that ALL Brits love tea is most defnitely NOT correct as some of us hate it with a passion!
Thank you for the tip, I’ll definitely check these videos out
About that, it’s those sterotypes again. Like the Dutch and clogs and Germans and Lederhosen, or Norwegians and skiing for that matter. Personally I have not been skiing since Easter 1981, and I have no plans to do it ever again
Like the Norwegian author Jens Bjørneboe said, quoted off the top off my head and translated by me - “The greatest gift you get when you become an adult, is that you never have to go skiing again.”
The other British stereotype, as you quite rightly described the word, is that we all love fish (note I am taking it back to the animal theme ) and chips, when in fact not all of us do.
Personally, I love the chips if they are of reasonable quality and not too greasy / dry… but the fish can, as far as I am concerned, stay in the sea!!!
Good one there, although I’m sure letsdothis will cut us some slack here
To stick to fish, there’s also a stereotype about Norwegians and fish, which there actually may be something to. After China, Norway is the second biggest fish exporting country in the world. Which is rather amazing for a country with a population of only a little over five and a half millions.
Now, should this have been in the “Did you know?” topic?
It is actually sad yes.
Sometimes this forum is a pain in the ass if you want to delete something…
Subtitles / translation please!
I can’t believe she kept opening her mouth!!
Hey, Shojo. I’m completely deaf, so most things with sound, unless there are subtitles, are going to go right by me.
But, this is only 11 seconds, and I don’t see what a dog has to do with two old time trains on a computer. There just doesn’t seem to be a connection.
First you see the trains, with the typical sound of steam trains. And then you realize the sound comes from the dog. Took me by surprise
Thanks, mate. Much appreciated. Cheers!
