Three translators gave me word for word identical translations, which was:
“I cut my hand at work between the fingers, they put stitches.”
That statement is written in first person, meaning the person who wrote it is the person it refers to.
Cinderella couldn’t have written that statement because 1) she didn’t cut her hand and 2) she doesn’t have outside work.
It was written by the person it happened to, which was Ben. He’s saying, “I cut my hand at work…”
If Cinderella had written it, she would have said, “He cut his hand at work…” referring to Ben.

I don’t know what happened between you guys, but I really wish you would both bury the hatchet, figuratively speaking, of course, and get along with each other. No b___dshed on the forum floor, please. It’s hard to get out of the carpets.
