Simply put - with IP44 protection water splashes, like those in shower, won’t hurt them.
Wow thanks guys i really had no idea that phones were even semi-resistant to anything let alone water and even less knowledge about the way that it is graded . In my heart of hearts i cannot but think that the whole system just adds cost to the phones in the first place and is a little unnecessary . i do take your point about marketing it as waterproof but if the first few people who found out that they were not waterproof took the company to court they would soon stop marketing that way.
But seriously thanks guys. My first comment on the picture was, while admitting my lack of knowledge, a little tongue in cheek and intended to be humorous but i have ended up learning.
I do not think that some seals and a bit water resistant glue are expensive at all 
probably not i was thinking that someone has to pay for all the committees and ‘‘scientists’’ who check, authorise, write reports , form committees, translate the findings. market & publicise the findings and a million more non-jobs. Someone has to pay them.
You do not need much scientists for that feature…
