The twins are already 22 years old this year. And since my wife died of cancer, since they were 11 years old, they have been with me and taking them everywhere, because my father lives in Granada or in the South of France and my mother-in-law is with her other son in San Francisco.
Fauré’s Requiem has seven movements: Introit et Kyrie, Offertory, Sanctus, Pie Jesu, Agnus Dei, Libera me and In Paradisum. We have a short break of a few minutes, but with my colleagues around it is not possible. Just to give a very quick overview.
I’ve heard Pie Jesu before. Beautiful song. I didn’t know it was a movement in another song, though.
Pie Jesu translates to Merciful Jesus in English. It’s a plea to Jesus to grant peace and rest to departed souls.
