read the rules at the top of the page , comp is a success so no need for motivation , days can be added at the end of comp 6th jan . which happens to be the official date of the ending of the holiday season , [The Christmas season is officially over on Epiphany, which is traditionally celebrated on 6th January]
dont get me wrong ,not trying to be a killjoy , but someone needed to give a reputable answer to your question ,

Okay ill give you the official reason , when @Alex666 started this competition he was in a festive mood and felt like playing father christmas 
, but then when he woke up and went for a shit and shave , he looked in the mirror and saw the grinch and realised thats his true self and now hes just being naughty and spoiling all the festive cheer …
