Damn, you beat me to it,great stuff Jock
This is my hometown, born and bred
Here is a picture from my hometown. The Frisian Wadden Sea.
By the way, you can buy land there cheaply. But only at low tide…
Is that you waiting for the high tide ?
No, that’s a buyer I sold a property to. He now wants to stake out his territory. That’s why he also has a shovel with him to set the boundary stones…
Builders removed about 2,00,000 tons of Rock to create the Ancient Temple ‘Kailasa’.
The entire Temple was carved out of a Single Rock. Carvers started at the top of the original rock and excavated downward.
A Marterpiece of Art!
After yesterday’s pictures from Hamburg, here’s a little tourist film for a part of the city of Hamburg that you can hardly believe is also Hamburg.
Chand Baori, the largest and deepest stepwell in India. It consists of 3,500 narrow steps over 13 stories and extends 30 metres into the ground.
The oldest parts of the stepwell date from the 8th century.
Wow that looks even unreal . Could be straight from a Tomb Raider game
Ik kom van waar dat mooie monument staat ( België )
In de stad waar deze hallentoren staat ben ik geboren (Tielt)
En nu woon ik in Roeselare waar dit bier wordt gebrouwen
En ook bekend om het bekende wielermuseum
That’s amazing!!
It let me play it, but all I ever saw was a black box. After many tries, it finally let me download it, but it also showed me only a black screen.
The file properties said it’s 279 MB. I’m not sure how you were able to upload a file that large, but unfortunately I can’t play it on- or offline. I even reloaded the tab, but nothing seems to work.
I didn’t upload the file, just the link. Practically the same as we do with YouTube videos.
For me, the video runs perfectly here in the forum and based on the reactions, other users don’t seem to have had any problems either. So sorry, no idea why you can’t play it.
Oh my did you just dox yourself? Also why are you naked??
Aside from having a lot of steps and presumably some water at the bottom (I hope that’s not what the green stuff is), what is a stepwell used for?
It was built by King Chanda of the Nikumbha Dynasty in 9th century AD to conserve water and provide a respite from the intense heat.
Rajput people had access to water at any time of the year, and from all sides. The reasons behind building such an elaborate step well isare not fully clear. Some believe it was used as a water harvesting site. Rajasthan is a dry place, and hence, every ounce of water is precious. The large mouth of the well functioned as a rain catching funnel that contributed to the water seeping in from the porous rock at the bottom. In addition to conserving water, Chand Baori also became a community gathering place for the Abhaneri locals. The townsfolk used to sit around the step well and cool off during the summer days. At the bottom of the wellwell, the air is always about 5-6 degrees cooler than at the top
Are you downloading the video to your phone or your computer? I was able to play the video on my phone ok ish. It did take a while to load and if I try to skip around to different parts of the video it will sometimes permanently freeze.
That’s a pretty sweet bicycle you are riding Mohrchi. Who is the manufacture? Is it German made?
To my phone. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time to fully load. I’ll try that. Thanks.
