Hey guys. For everyone out there who posts pics from the live feed, the timeline or videos, here’s a tip for getting better, sharper screenshots.
Start with the live feed, or whatever you’re working with, in full screen mode.
When you see something start to get interesting, stop the feed.
If that frame is blurry or not what you want, very quickly double-click on the feed to advance it 2 or 3 frames (the amount depends on the frame rate and how fast your double clicks are).
If that’s not sharp enough, keep doing the quick double clicks until you get a sharp frame.
Here’s the key: Take the screenshot while the feed is stopped.
And don’t worry about taking a bunch of shots. You can always delete everything except the best one(s).
If you’re playing a video, you can probably use the space bar to double-click, which should be easier and quicker.
Here’s an example of what the quick double clicks look like. This recorded at a frame rate of 14 frames (think pictures) per second (FPS). The higher the FPS, the more frames will be skipped between double clicks. These cameras don’t usually record higher than 30 FPS.
